 Hannah draws on Bluegrass and Appalachian fiddle styles to bring new energy and depth to traditional songs, blending lyrics, rhythmic backup, and harmony parts with both subtlety and power. Her 19th-century Saxon fiddle, Sara, lends a warm, expressive voice—sweet when needed, gritty when called upon—and has shared her sound in barns, kitchens, and concert halls alike. Together, Hannah and Sara form the heart of Hannah-Sara, a project rooted in tradition and full of life. They’re joined by longtime collaborators Amber-Lynn Yourk on mandolin (Crooked Path, Sadie’s Ghost, Amerada Road), Michelle Bohning on guitar (Burls on Gourbon), and Pamela Mae on upright bass (Scott Cook and Pamela Mae, The Strawflowers), creating a rich, dynamic sound shaped by years of shared musical connection.

 Juno-nominated and internationally recognized songwriter/guitarist Sean Pinchin has been a steady presence on the festival circuit for decades. Receiving a 2014 Maple Blues and a 2017 Juno nomination, Sean continues to impress audiences across North America, sharing stages with artists like Dione Taylor, Sonny Landreth, Steve Strongman, and MonkeyJunk. As a member of the Dione Taylor Band, Sean has shared the stage with such internationally recognized acts as War and Treaty, Colin James, Birds of Chicago, Serena Ryder, MCrary Sisters, Harry Manx, Blind Boy Paxton, Harrison Kennedy, Catl, Samantha Martin, Delta Sugar, and Guy Davis.

Dreamers Son is a four-piece band that blends diverse influences into a dynamic and unpredictable sound. Led by frontman Travis and the legendary Canadian guitar icon, Gordie Matthews, their father-son harmonies strike a resonance that's deeply rooted in connection and raw emotion. Collin's steady anchor the rhythm section, while Travis's thick, gritty bass lines add depth and power. Doug’s theatrical, shimmering soundscapes provide a dreamlike atmosphere, and Gord’s gut-punching guitar solos create moments of pure musical exhilaration. Their debut album is set to release in fall of 2025!

With over 150 shows a year across Western Canada and the U.S., and multiple albums released annually, John’s relentless drive and poetic touch leave a lasting impression. Dietluck: We are a small new band from Edmonton who enjoys hanging out and playing music together. Our inspiration for genres comes from the alternative, indie, jangle-pop, and shoegaze scenes. We are working on recording some songs to release soon and hopefully have an album. For this set, we're going to be playing some acoustic versions of our original songs and some covers.

Known for his scrappy solo shows and arresting stage presence, Nolan’s songs are sometimes fragile and fractured, yet winningly wistful. In the next moment, he'll throw on his weathered newsboy cap and crank out a grit-soaked howl, paying homage to the Delta Blues. For a solo act, Nolan is a mountain, and audiences are his lifeblood. He continues to dazzle fans across North America and Europe, performing around 150 shows a year. His lyrics draw a harrow over the human condition, revealing secrets that only those daring enough to cross into uncharted territory could uncover.

The Carrot Friday Nite Live presents The Grey Men (With special guests - Opening act) - May 30

 The Grey Men is a band of three musicians who toured together professionally in the early 1980's, and have been actively playing together over many decades now. The band plays just about every musical style including rock, jazz, blues, and country, but prefers to play in the jazz rock vein. The band is well rehearsed and plays a very tight set of music.

The Carrot Friday Nite Live presents Michael Szabo – May 23

Mike Szabo, Had a late start to his music career. Truth is, he never saw it coming. In just a few short years Mike has written his own book of songs and has been featured several times on CKUA, CBC and Windspeaker Radio. What he loves most though, is to perform for a live audience. Self taught over decades, Mike spent a lot of time around Alberta Campfires, singing the songs of the some of the world’s best songwriters. While you may well hear those influences in his music, Mike has definitely found his own voice and his songwriting is beginning to be noticed. With words that don’t hold back and with his heart on his sleeve, Mike paints a vivid picture of life and the world around us, transporting you from a seat in the audience, to a special place in your memories and your heart. 2024 brought Mike invitations to play his songs at folk clubs, festivals, civic events, house concerts and no less than four songwriters showcases around Alberta. With a new studio album soon to hit the airwaves, 2025 could be a busy year for this Alberta singer songwriter.
