Born in Alberta, raised in AB, SK & BC ~ currently residing in Edmonton, AB
Creating her life via a multidimensional range of jobs ~ both paid and unpaid
~ aka ~ (in no particular order)
daughter_sibling_mother_student_friend_cashier & retail sales clerk_telephone operator_accounting/file clerk
architectural tech_holistic/energy/soul voice student_VINE choir member/avid participant-observer of life
amateur living room dancer_passable cook_guerilla gardening advocate_fresh raspberry lovin’ harvester
interior designer for her personal/private & shared spaces ~ Recently retired from ‘paid’ daily work/life grind
Deborah has enjoyed playing with colour since getting her first crayons.
Beyond the ‘basics’ learned in public school art classes, she is predominantly self-taught
Sporadic, spontaneous events let her briefly study watercolour techniques w/AB artist Willie Wong brief explorations of various mediums via Nina Haggerty Community Art Nights,
Continuing Ed Uninstructed Life Drawing, scattered ‘one day/evening’ painting/sketching classes & occasional, informal plein air/indoor sketching sessions either solo or with artist groups/friends . Former member of the PRA_YXE Artists Guild (Saskatoon ~ 2022/23)
Current SWCA exhibiting member artist (since late 2023)

This exhibition covers works from various art explorations Pre/During/Post my child bearing/rearing years. Changing family of origin/family of choice dynamics and other life experiences have always had a considerable influence on the subject matter and focus for my artworks. Every piece offers me a ‘Pause’ of one kind or another of ‘BEing In The Moment’ in the flow of life unfolding in the Kaleidoscope of influences constantly vying for my attention. Each piece also reflects for/to me Toltec wisdom teachings of Don Miguel Ruiz around the term ‘ARTIST’ ~ aka ~
We Are ALL Artists Beholding/Creating Our Own and the Collective Reality of This BEing Human Adventure
